Compare / ServiceTitan

Tandem and ServiceTitan: a price you read, or one you request.

Our reading: ServiceTitan is aimed at bigger operations than Tandem is. If you're a large shop, it may well be the better fit. Here is how the two differ on price, receptionist and switching, dated and linked.

Cost
It lists no prices; you request pricing, quoted per technician in three packages. Tandem's are on the pricing page.
Fit
Our reading: it's aimed at larger operations, since its own pages list enterprise and franchise segments. Tandem isn't built for those.
Switching
Tandem's importer has no ServiceTitan columns built in, so it matches an .xlsx export by common header names. The steps are below.

Who each one suits

ServiceTitan may suit you if

  • You run a large or multi-department operation. Its site lists inventory, accounting, reporting and more than 70 pre-built integrations, with segments for commercial, enterprise and franchise. Tandem isn't built for that scale. As published on Oct 1, 2026: servicetitan.com
  • You're comfortable with a demo-and-quote process. Pricing is by request, per technician, in three packages. As published on Oct 1, 2026: servicetitan.com/pricing

Tandem may suit you if

  • You're an owner-led shop and want to read the price on the page, with no demo call needed.
  • You're the dispatcher, the bookkeeper and often the lead tech, and want a tool that keeps up without a project to set it up.
  • You'd like the receptionist's limits written down before you pay for it.

AI receptionist and published limitsWhat does it do, and what does the vendor say it can't?The AI receptionist is on Level: 1,000 minutes a month included, then $0.29 a minute. Switching from ServiceTitan

Tandem's importer doesn't have ServiceTitan's columns built in. It reads any CSV or Excel file and matches columns by common header names, and you can fix any match by hand.

1. Export from ServiceTitan

  1. Customers: choose Search, then Customers with no filters, press the Expand icon and pick Export to Excel (.xlsx). The file downloads. help.servicetitan.com: exporting a list of customers to Excel
  2. Anything else: run the report, press Export above the results and choose XLSX (PDF is the other option; CSV isn't listed). help.servicetitan.com: run, filter and export reports

We haven't checked which ServiceTitan reports hold your price book, jobs, estimates, invoices and payments, so we don't name them.

2. Upload under Settings → Import

It's on every plan. Tandem matches what it recognizes and asks you about the rest. Every row is shown before anything is saved, with duplicates found by phone or email: skip them, merge them or add them anyway. You can undo an import while its records are untouched. Importing only reads the files you export; it doesn't connect to ServiceTitan or change anything there.

What Tandem reads

  • Customers: name, company, email, mobile and other phones, service and billing addresses, tags, notes, lead source, the date they were added and the old app's customer ID.
  • Price book: name, description, category, price, cost and whether it's taxable.
  • History: jobs, estimates, invoices and payments, each as its own file, matched to the customer by the old customer ID, else email, mobile or a unique name. Each keeps its dates, amounts and old number.
  • CSV and Excel (.xlsx) files. If an Excel workbook has several sheets, you choose which one.

What it doesn't bring over yet

  • Customer equipment (a unit's model, serial number and warranty). Add it in the app.
  • A second service address on one customer. A customer with two properties comes as two rows, which are matched and merged.
  • Line items in a cell we can't read. They come over as one line with the subtotal.

What importing won't do. It never texts, emails or charges your customers, and nobody is opted in to marketing unless your file says they agreed. Questions about a file? The FAQ covers switching.

What Tandem doesn't do yet

Consumer financing, Tap to Pay on the phone, a QuickBooks sync, Reserve with Google and Spanish screens and calls aren't built yet. The full list, kept current, is on the changelog.
