Housecall Pro and Tandem both run a small shop's calls, jobs and invoices. Here is the whole monthly bill each one publishes, dated and linked, and who fits where.
- Cost
- It publishes its prices, from $59 a month billed annually (Basic, 1 user included). Tandem's are on the pricing page.
- Fit
- Its pricing page says it's designed for home service businesses, with plans that include 1, 5 or 8 users.
- Switching
- Tandem's importer recognizes its export columns. The steps are below.
Read this first. Housecall Pro, Jobber and ServiceTitan are trademarks of their owners, and Tandem isn't affiliated with any of them. Everything about them is what their own pages said on Oct 1, 2026. Prices and features change, so check the source. How we keep these fair
Who each one suits
Housecall Pro may suit you if
- You want one vendor for more of the business. Its site lists consumer and business financing, expense cards, payroll and accounting alongside scheduling and invoicing. Tandem has none of those yet.As published on Oct 1, 2026: housecallpro.com
- You're growing past a small crew. Its plans include 1, 5 or 8 users, then $35 a month for each extra user on Max.As published on Oct 1, 2026: housecallpro.com/pricing
Tandem may suit you if
- You're an owner-led HVAC, plumbing or electrical shop and want to read the whole monthly bill without a demo call: every plan, extra people and receptionist minutes on one page.
- You want the receptionist's rules written down before you turn it on: what it can do, what it can't, and a switch to turn it off.
- You want to move over with every row checked first: Tandem shows each imported row before it saves, and never texts, emails or charges your customers while it does.

Switching from Housecall Pro
Tandem's importer recognizes Housecall Pro's export columns and matches them for you. You see every row before anything is saved.
1. Export from Housecall Pro
- Customers: in Housecall Pro choose Customers, then Actions, then Export, confirm your email and press Send file. A CSV arrives from Housecall Pro by email. Only admins can export the customer and job lists. help.housecallpro.com: import and export jobs and customers
- Past jobs: the same way, from Jobs, then Actions, then Export. Also a CSV by email. help.housecallpro.com: import and export jobs and customers
- Price book: Settings, then Price Book, choose Services or Materials and press Export. A CSV is emailed to you. It needs an admin or office staff with permission to update company account info. help.housecallpro.com: price book import and export
We haven't checked where Housecall Pro exports past estimates and payments, so we don't give steps for them.
2. Upload under Settings → Import
It's on every plan. Tandem says it looks like a Housecall Pro export and matches the columns. Every row is shown before anything is saved, with duplicates found by phone or email: skip them, merge them or add them anyway. You can undo an import while its records are untouched. Importing only reads the files you export; it doesn't connect to Housecall Pro or change anything there.
What Tandem reads
- Customers: name, company, email, mobile and other phones, service and billing addresses, tags, notes, lead source, the date they were added and the old app's customer ID.
- Price book: name, description, category, price, cost and whether it's taxable.
- History: jobs, estimates, invoices and payments, each as its own file, matched to the customer by the old customer ID, else email, mobile or a unique name. Each keeps its dates, amounts and old number.
- CSV and Excel (.xlsx) files. If an Excel workbook has several sheets, you choose which one.
What it doesn't bring over yet
- Customer equipment (a unit's model, serial number and warranty). Add it in the app.
- A second service address on one customer. A customer with two properties comes as two rows, which are matched and merged.
- Column names we haven't seen in a real export. The matching was built from help pages, so a renamed column is one you match by hand in the preview.
- Line items in a cell we can't read. They come over as one line with the subtotal.
What importing won't do. It never texts, emails or charges your customers, and nobody is opted in to marketing unless your file says they agreed. Questions about a file? The FAQ covers switching.

What Tandem doesn't do yet
