Free tools / Maintenance plans

What a maintenance plan is worth to your shop.

Members pay a yearly price, you owe them tune-ups, and they get a discount on repairs. Enter your own numbers to see what's left after the visits and the discount.

The program, one year

Whole numbers.

Tandem plans offer 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 or 12.

Labor, truck time and any parts it includes.

An average. 0.6 means about 6 in 10 members book one.

These are example numbers, not averages for your trade. Replace every one with yours. Nothing you type leaves this page.

The program nets $3,600 a year. Revenue $12,450, visit margin $4,950, discount given away $1,350.

What this leaves out. The repair work members book at full price on top of the discount, members who don't renew, and tax. It's the program on its own, nothing more.

How it's worked out

  1. Recurring revenue

    members × yearly price = 50 × $249 = $12,450

  2. Cost of the visits

    members × tune-ups × cost per visit = 50 × 2 × $75 = $7,500

  3. Margin on the visits

    revenue − cost of the visits = $12,450 − $7,500 = $4,950 (39.8% of revenue)

  4. Discount given away

    members × repair jobs × average job × discount = 50 × 0.6 × $450 × 0.1 = $1,350

  5. Net

    margin on the visits − discount = $4,950 − $1,350 = $3,600

How Tandem fits

You set a plan's price, its visits a year, the lines put on each visit and the member discount in Settings → Service plans. Tandem bills each renewal on its date with a pay link, creates every maintenance visit as an unscheduled job due that day, and takes the member discount off the member's other invoices. Members can see their visits and renewal in their portal. See features for the rest. Tandem doesn't count what a visit costs you; that's the number you typed here.
